3.1

Service Area Update

Brian Glavin

B. Glavin, Chief Operating Officer, presented Committee with an update on the current and projected activities planned throughout the service area:

• Facilities & Energy - Tenders are now open for the RCMP Parkade Slab Remediation Design/Construction and the City Service Centre Exterior Remediation.
• Transit - Ridership is up the following amounts year over year: Paratransit 197%, Conventional 34%, Youth 81%, and On-Demand 241%.  The heated shelters are currently scheduled to be delivered in early March.
• Environment & Parks - Maintenance of outdoor rinks for skating and hockey is ongoing. Administration is working on tree pruning projects throughout the City. 
• Transportation - Storage piles are being hauled away to assist with drainage. Administration provided assistance for setup of the Alberta Winter Games. Dewinterizing of street sweeping equipment is underway.
